Luminescent methods of research are widely using in chemistry, biology, medicine, different areas of technique. These methods possess exclusively high sensitivity and give multi-purpose possibilities of studying the excited condition of molecules, photochemical reactions, dynamics of quick molecular processes, structure and properties of complicated chemical and biological objects. Substances can luminesce in all aggregative state - gases and exhalations, solutions of organic substances, glass, crystalline substances. The main condition - presence of a discrete spectrum. Substances with continuous energy spectrum (for example, metals in condensed state) don't luminesce because excitation energy is converting to heat uninterruptedly. Besides, for luminescence rise a probability of radiation transition must exceed a probability of nonradiative transition. Ratio between these probabilities determines a luminescence effectiveness. From two basic existent types of molecular luminescence - fluorescence and phosphorescence - in work of spectrofluorimeter CM 2203 first type is used. From stimulation types, by which luminescence is categorized, is used photoluminescence - stimulation by optical radiation.
